Middle School Cycle

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students will learn some of the basic terminology and concepts of theater: Stage Design, Stage Pictures, Non-Verbal, and Verbal Communication

MATERIALS:

Students need to come to each class with the following:

             Notebook
           
Writing utensil (Pen or Pencil)               
            
Folder

 Any additional materials we may be using (scripts/costumes/props/etc)

CLASSROOM RULES:

There will be two rules that will be followed in this class:

1.           Respect.

Under respect the following rules apply but not limited to:

¨        Treating others as you would like to be treated.

¨        Not talking while the instructor is talking or when others are presenting.

¨        Respect the work other students do in class.

 

2.           Responsibility.

Under responsibility the following rules apply but not limited to:

¨        Arriving to class on time.

¨        Bringing the necessary materials to class (which include textbook, paper writing utensils, etc.).

¨        Having assignments ready on time.

 

ALL RULES FROM THE DAVID BREARLEY HANDBOOK APPLY IN THIS CLASS

 

GRADING:

Daily Grade- 5 points

5/5= on task the entire time and positively contributed to the class

4/5= on task the entire time

3/5= on task most of the time or positively contributed to the class

2/5= off task more so than on task or negatively contributed to the class

1/5= off task and negatively contributed to the class

0/5= did not participate

 

*Grades will be put in on a weekly basis. 

 

FINAL GRADE=

65% or higher- PASS

64% or lower- FAIL
