Ms. Dana Chibbaro, Principal
Ms. Chibbaro is in her second year at David Brearley and has worked in education for more than 20 years. She was most
recently an assistant principal at Tom’s River High School South.
Prior to working in Tom’s River, she worked as an assistant principal
in Keansburg, was senior content director for Newark Public Schools,
owned and operated a Goddard school and was a high school teacher and
department chair at Point Pleasant Borough High School.
“As the new principal it will be my mission to motivate, inspire, and
propel every member of our school family to continually excel,”
Chibbaro said. “David Brearley Middle/High School is bursting with great
potential to exceed expectations and produce learners and leaders who
refuse to accept failure as an option. I am looking forward to getting
to know every student and their families.”
“These priorities derive from the core values that drive my work as
an educational leader,” Chibbaro said. “Those values are grounded in
what is best for students. I believe in providing them with what they
need when they need it. I hold firm to the idea that academic talent
will flourish when students feel socially and emotionally safe. Most
importantly, I recognize that collaboration is key to success. The
collective wisdom of various stakeholders, supported by individual and
specific contributions, is critical in moving the work forward. To that
end, I will be focusing on building relationships with staff, students,
and families in order to guide our shared work with students.”
